I spent my youth in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, as an audience 'plant' for my grandfather the magician, a child laborer for my father in the restaurant business, and a Catholic school girl. I attended the Kansas City Art Institute and the College of Santa Fe, and finally graduated from Oklahoma University with a BFA.
I have recently relocated to Los Angeles, CA, from Norman, and I am actively pursuing my art career.
My cinematic and photographic work deals with the sinister and isolating ideas of disguised humans as creatures in the natural world, contained by the secrets and lies that surround them.
I rely on street photography to act as a type of journal of daily life because I have a very poor sense of memory. I also see this documentation as a practice in daily awareness of color, form, composition and line.
Through all of my work, I see myself as a purveyor of magical moments.
I use a digital canon slr, an iphone, an EVO camera phone and a little photoshop for a fancy touch, but all of the situations are real and created for the end result of the photograph.
